  • 1050D Ballistic - Is an exceptionally strong ballistic nylon made from high-tenacity fiber, at least twice as durable as other materials used in luggage manufacturing. Also, the threads are twisted three turns per inch, and woven extra tight, for added strength.
  • Ripstop - Extra strength fibers are interwoven into fabric at specific intervals to provide exceptional tear strength in a light weight material.
  • ABS Honeycomb - Is a lightweight frame used in softside luggage to provide more support on the sides of the case, and offer more protection to what's packed inside
  • Retractable handle - Provides easy maneuverability when extended out from the case, and stores neatly inside when not in use. Locks in place in both the fully extended and stored positions for secure traveling.
  • Top leather handle - Is more comfortable and durable way for you to lift the case with ease, to carry it by hand when rolling isn't an option.

My wife and I have used this bag many many times and it works great! A variety of compartments with easy access. Durable construction. The compressor feature is fantastic as well: Expand the main compartment, over-pack the bag, close the cover and push down to compress. Voila' it's back to carry-on size! (FYI dmv (July 24, 2012): that's right, you close the cover first then compress the bag. That eliminates the need for your wife to sit on it to zip it up: There's a time and a place for reading directions, that may have been one of them, LOL). If this bag had spinner wheels that would be a plus, but it works just fine with the stationary wheels. Is that an oxymoron? The wheels do turn but they are not mounted on spinning casters... Buy it!

I used this to go on a trip to China. I was excited about this new compression suitcase because it was getting rave reviews. So, this is what you do - you pull up the sides of the suitcase using a mechanism inside the suitcase, put in your clothes to the edge of the suitcase (I did not overpack it), press down the mechanism inside the suitcase which pushes down the sides suitcase leaving all the clothes above the suitcase edge!!!!!!!!! I had to sit on the top of the suitcase while my husband zipped it up. Then the sides of the suitcase do not meet up on the outside and there is a gap. The suitcase is also very heavy. Not worth money and I really wish I could send it back but I was evacuated from my house because of the Waldo Canyon Fire and the shipping box was at my house and I needed a suitcase for my trip. I am extremely unhappy about this purchase because I have always considered Samsonite products to be reliable and excellent quality.
