Caring for Your Luggage

Learn how to take the very best care of your well-loved hardside luggage, softside luggage, and travel pillows so you can keep adventuring with them.

Hardside Luggage

Materials

Durable plastic that’s strong, lightweight, flexible and water-resistant.

Cleaning

Wash with warm water and mild dish soap, then rinse.

Pro tip

Try a silicone-based car or furniture polish to add shine and durability.

Softside Luggage

Materials

Proprietary technical fabrics that are eco-friendly, durable, and built to last.

Cleaning

Use a mild dish soap and water, or spot clean with a stain remover for clothing, upholstery or cars.

Pro tip

To eliminate odors, apply one part vinegar and five parts water and air out.

Travel Accessories

To clean some of our necessary travel extras like pillows, we recommend spot cleaning (instead of machine washing) with a mild dish soap and water and air drying.

How to Store Your Luggage

Extremes of temperature, as well as the extremes of humidity will tend to age luggage. Any Samsonite luggage which is being stored in an attic or basement should be taken out of storage, opened, and permitted to "air" regularly. This will help to prevent mildew from forming as a result of humidity. It also assists in maintaining the normal resiliency of the case itself. Following storage where extreme temperatures prevail, we recommend cleaning the luggage.
